Reba is standing backstage next to Dave after he emceed a performance of the Lipizzan Stallions at the Gaylord Center in Nashville. Her son, Shelby, celebrated his birthday at the show.

Shelby donned a Lipizzan rider’s hat and coat, and enjoyed a gentle ride on one of the magnificent horses.

Several times throughout his career, he—like many stage magicians—incorporated duck magic into some of his larger shows. Ducks are funny, but they are also very nasty, stinky and ill-mannered! Dave seldom performed with his pet ducks for that reason. His assistants hated handling the ducks, so Dave finally sold the last batch to a petting farm!
